Tottenham have made a bid worth £70 million ($95m) for Brentford attacker Bryan Mbeumo as they aim to secure the winger ahead of Manchester United.

Per the Daily Mirror, Spurs have launched a £70m offer for Mbeumo, comprising a fee of £65m ($88m) and add-ons totalling £5m ($7m), meaning they have outstripped United's offer by £10m ($13.5m), although the player's preference is still understood to be a move to Old Trafford.

Spurs have appointed Thomas Frank as their new manager and he is said to be very keen on bringing Mbeumo with him from Brentford. United do hold an advantage in terms of their ability to offer Mbeumo higher wages, and he would earn around £200,000-per-week at Old Trafford, whereas it would be closer to £140,000-per-week at Spurs.

Mbeumo has a year left on his contract and Brentford do hold the option to extend it by a further year should they wish to; they are resigned, however, to his departure this summer.
